NORTH MARMARA HIGHWAY KINALI-ÇATALCA SECTION HAS BEEN PUT INTO SERVICE
Kınalı-Çatalca section of the 400 km long Northern Marmara Motorway, which connects Aegean Marmara and Central Anatolia without interruption, has been put into service. The opening of the project, which reduced the traffic density in the city and the existing Bosphorus bridges, was held with the participation of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The opening of the North Marmara Motorway Kınalı-Çatalca section, which will provide uninterrupted and rapid transportation of goods and services, produced in the industrial areas in Thrace, to Istanbul and Anatolia, was held on Sunday, March 08, 2020, with the participation of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan, General Manager of motorway Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kalyon Holding Orhan Cemal Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kolin İnşaat, Kolin İnşaat Board Chairman Naci Koloğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Limak İnşaat Nihat Özdemir and Pak Yatırım Chairman of the Board Nail Olpak also participated in the ceremony.
With the opening of Kınalı-Çatalca section; Vehicles entering from Kınalı Mevkii on the west of Silivri will be able to uninterruptedly travel to Dilovası-Bursa İzmir using the Northern Marmara Motorway and Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.
Kınalı-Çatalca section, which connects the tourism routes from Tekirdağ to Çanakkale to Istanbul, is also the beginning of the Northern Marmara Motorway, which connects the Marmara Region to the Aegean and Central Anatolia Regions. The Northern Marmara Motorway, which significantly reduces the traffic intensity created by the urbanization and industrialization in the Marmara region in the main arteries and thus separates the intercity and international traffic load passing through the region, and increases the service quality and road safety in transportation, locates at a total length of 400 km. In the European parts of the project, there are total 14 viaducts, 37 bridges, 3 tunnels, 19 overpasses, 43 underpasses and 118 culverts; in the Asian parts, there are 16 viaducts, 106 bridges, 5 tunnels, 54 overpasses, 53 underpasses and 481 culverts.
North Marmara Motorway
